About Enablr

What the hell is this anyway?

Enablr is about creating a suite of extremely simple tools that help you to communicate better on the web. If it can't be done in 3 steps and on a single page, we're not going to do it.

How this started

It's about listening

The two initial services, Transcribr and Stenographr, have their origins in stuff posted on some of my favourite blogs. The idea for Transcribr came from this post explaining why Seth Godin doesn't do podcasting. Charlie O'Donnell gets credit for inspiring Stenographr with his post about wanting to make his nana proud.

Who we are

Not that you really care

I don't have any false illusions that you think we're all that fascinating, but I figured if we were going to ask for your money you should at least know who's getting it.

I'm Ken King, the founder of Enablr, and proud to be considered the laziest man in the world by my wife, in the sense that a lazy man is an efficency expert. See also Robert Heinlein's classic about The Man Who Was Too Lazy to Fail (within Time Enough For Love).

When I'm not dreaming up simple ways to make life easier on myself (and others), I run a marketing firm in Toronto, Canada, play hockey, practice kung fu and read way too many RSS feeds. In addition to the Enablr blog, you can check out what I have to say on my King Marketing blog

Andrew MacLeod is Enablr's front-end and back-end developer. I've worked with Andrew off and on for about five years now. He's been instrumental in turning my site mockups into reality and building the framework for the additional features/services that will be implemented over the coming weeks and months. Andrew is an XHTML/CSS/accessibility standards geek - his exact words were "I live for this stuff".

AJ Kandy is Creative Director for King Marketing, and is also my principal advisor regarding the Internet, interface design and blogging. AJ is the only person I know who can be more pedantic about language than I am. I think it should be duly noted that on September 29th, 2005 AJ officially proclaimed that the whatevr anti-vowel trend is about to jump the shark. You can read some of his thoughts on designat his KingMarketing blog.
